 Katraj to Sinhgad (Famously known as K2S) is a mountain range spread over around 15 KM between Katraj Old Tunnel & Sinhgad Fort. This range has about 16 hills & situated in southern areas of Pune. About Fireflies : Fireflies, the twinkling insects that belong to the family of beetles.Fireflies light up in night due to a bioluminescent reaction that takes place in their bodies.Fireflies use flashes as mating signals. The flashes that you see in your yard are generally from males looking for females. They flash a specific pattern while they fly, hoping for a female reply..Ideally, the best time to watch these fireflies are during the pre-monsoon months of May and June.Particularly during the first two weeks of June because it is the peak mating season for fireflies.Life span is just one to three weeks.
